The winter months can sometimes be hard for a lot people that work traditional office jobs. Often waking up before or with the sun, commuting through the chilly weather, spending most of the nicest time of every day inside the office, and finally returning home just as the sun says goodbye again. The good news is that spring is just around the corner, the days are going to be getting longer and you can get out and enjoy the nice weather of weekends. Here are a few ideas to consider depending on where you live and how much time your schedule provides you.
All Day Family Picnic
If you are short on time, you don’t need to miss out on the fun! You can plan a family picnic at a local park with plenty of activities. Talk to other friends, families, and coworkers to get more people involved. If you end up with a lot of people, ask everyone to bring something so that everyone contributes. Remember to clean up after yourselves and take any trash back out with you.
Weekend Trip to the Beach or Mountains
Depending where you live, you can make the whole weekend into a small, mini vacation. Check local hotel deals to see if there is somewhere near enough to where you live that you’ll feel like you are on vacation but near enough that you won’t have any stress from being too far away from home. The beach and mountains both make for great weekend trips if you live within driving distance to either, local lakes and national parks are also great ideas. If you are on a tight budget, you can look into camping instead of a hotel. Be sure you take everything you’ll need if you decide to camp, there probably won’t be a lot of options to buy if you forget anything.
Take a Long Weekend
A lot of people don’t have the option to take any days off or long weekends, but if you plan it correctly, you can sometimes coordinate a holiday with a vacation day or two and get a nice long weekend to kick off the spring. The key to this is to plan it well in advance so your employer knows your intention and can help you schedule a few days off. Once you have the required days off you can plan your accommodations, airfare, rental car from Enterprise, etc. Taking care of everything now will eliminate a lot of stress in the upcoming weeks or months so you can enjoy your spring vacation.
