Treat Your Dog’s Flea Problem
We all have pet; a dog, cat or rabbit. If the flea season is not well prepared for by control and prevention method, our pretty pet could be in danger, they could even die. Moreover, since most of these pets roam around the house it means that, your home is no longer comfortable for you and your loved ones. You need to be able to get rid of them way before they start flying or increase in population.
One of the ways for flea treatment for your dog is by washing your dog in flea and tick shampoo. Another way is by applying a flea powder. A flea spray is another way of flea treatment for dogs.
Once you notice that flea infestation has started you get your dip ready and soak your dog in that medicated solution, once the dog is fully soaked, do not rinse it away, this means you leave your pet in a well ventilated area for sometime. Most flea latch around the neck area or the head of the dog.
One of the measures is feeding your dog with a monthly flea tablet, depending on its weight and age the veterinarian will recommend a dosage for your dog, when a female flea latch on the dog, it ingests the lufenuron chemical that is passed on to the eggs and prevents them from hatching. Application is done all over the dogs’ body.
You should comb the fur deep such that you are able to reach the skin and remove the fleas, comb from top to bottom, then dip your flea comb into a bucket with soapy water that will kill the fleas. Fleas love a dirty environment, thus if your dog is left to stay dirty, chances are, fleas will latch all over its body.Lemon juice is another simpler way killing fleas.
For lavender oil, you just need a few drops and you good to go. First, you need to coat your dog with a repellent, then spray the solution all over its body but concentrating on parts that are prone to fleas such as behind the ears and under the legs. All you need to do is to soak your dog in a rosemary infused water and allow it to dry naturally.
Whereas, most of the flea treatment are either applied or sprayed, the brewer’s yeast is mixed with the dogs’ food daily.Fleas love to live in a dump environment, thus it is important to clear all these areas that could be homes for flea eggs, larvae and pupae. It is easier to prevent flea latching to your dog than to watch your dog undergo an itchy process.
